Most notably, the Honourable Maurice Riel, one of the firm’s founders, was appointed Senator while still active at our firm. Mr. Justice Gerald Le Dain became the Dean of Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto after leaving Dunton Rainville, and has since been appointed Judge of the Federal Court of Appeal and, subsequently. Supreme Court Justice. Mr. Albert Bissonnette became a member of the Anti-dumping Tribunal. Mr. Justice Gérald J. Ryan sat as a Judge of the Superior Court for the District of Montréal for approximately 25 years. Mr. Jean Girouard, a former partner, has since been appointed Judge of the Labour Court in Montréal. Mr. Justice Marc DeWever, Mr. Justice Michel Caron and Mr. Justice Michel Déziel all sit as Judges of the Québec Superior Court. Mr. Justice Jean-Pierre St-Onge became the Speaker of the Québec National Assembly and now presides as a Judge of the Court of Quebec. Madam Justice Brigitte Charron is currently a Judge of the Court of Quebec, Civil Division.
